Join the Coyote Youth Baseball crew this spring in building your Baseball skills! This program will take place at their 10,000 sq ft indoor turf facility with small player groups. Each program day will build on skills from the last, encouraging your young player to succeed in and enjoy the game. Focusing on a variety of fundamental skills such as throwing, hitting, fielding and pitching each week your player will go home with sharpened and newly learnt abilities.
Program details:All players that join our camp will be learning all aspects of baseball. They will learn a dynamic stretching and warm up routine. We will be focusing on the fundamentals of baseball such as throwing, fielding, catching, hitting and base running. We want all players to learn and have fun playing this great game. What to come prepare with:Players will need a water bottle, gym shoes, a hat, and gym attire. If your player has any of the following glove, bat, helmet, or batting gloves they can bring them as well. We will also have some equipment that players can borrow if they do not have one. Join us in the mountain's for an adventure !
Explore the living cycle of the forest by studying plants, how they grow and the role of decomposition. Students will consider the forest as a natural resource and discover how people connect with local forests. Connect with the forest by examining the natural and human factors that shape the forest landscape. Students will identify our forest plants, and use real forestry tools to explore careers. This educational field trip offers a unique experience with an exciting full day of interactive programming that exposes students to the multiple values of a working forest. DetailsThe wonderful ambassadors facilitating our day in the mountain's will provide your students with tons of rich information, if you would like additional video links and resources to look at prior to the trip please reach out to me and I can provide you with some links suggested by the educators. It will be your responsibility to drive out in your own vehicles as there will be no bussing provided, carpooling with other families registered is a great idea! There is a small parking area that is primarily used near the Jumpingpound shelter here, as well as some extra space in the public parking area here. Please note, this is within the zone that requires a Kananaskis Conservation Pass. Date and TimeThe program runs on-site from 10:00am - 2:00pm on Friday June 6th. Suggested AgeThis program is recommended for Grades 1 - 6 however the content discussed may be aimed for the older students in this group. Younger students are very welcome to participate although it is highly suggested that a parent be present to help them out with the activities throughout the day. With that in mind, the educators are happy to accommodate a wide variety of ages with the help of each family leader present. Please plan to stay on site with your student(s) and enjoy a day in Kananaskis learning together! Throughout the program you will build a 3D map of Alberta and the ecosystems that make our province so diverse. You will be inspired by the beauty of the Northern Lights, creating your own chalk pastel scene that seeks to capture a little of the colour and movement of this amazing phenomenon. You will have fun making a felt mask of the quietest hunter in the forest (owls) and laugh at the prickly defences of the porcupine as you attempt to make a critter as spiky as the real thing! Discover the majestic cats that prowl and the unique traits that enable them to thrive in every season including the depths of winter. Enjoy creating water colour paintings the cutest little chipmunks and snowshoe hares. See how everything works together as you link plants and animals in an interactive food web. Track & FieldDo you like racing? Jumping? Throwing? Track & Field is for you!
Come join us at Genesis outdoor track for 4 weeks of fun! Students will be introduced to a variety of track and field events including standing & running long jump, triple jump, mini hurdles, throwing events and relays. Running technique, sprinting starts, and finishes will also be taught. Throwing events such as shot put and javelin will be taught using lighter implements for younger students. Hurdles will be plastic and low to the ground, with higher options available as students progress. Classes are rain or shine.
